Developing the Identity

Hunter Valley Tracks (HVT) specialises in undercarriage repairs, rebuilds and maintenance for mining and civil machinery. The brief was to develop a recognisable identity that reflected the nature of the business and could be used consistently across print and digital materials.

I explored several concepts before developing the final logo, using the shape of a continuous machinery track as the basis for the HVT mark. The bold lettering and yellow-and-black colour palette give the identity a strong, practical character suited to the industry.

Developing the identity

I explored several logo concepts before developing the final DA lettermark, which combines the initials with a subtle golf flag formed through negative space. The aim was to create something distinctive and professional, with a connection to golf that wasn’t overly obvious.

Putting the Identity to Work

The track motif became a recurring graphic element throughout the supporting materials, helping tie the different applications together.

I designed a detailed capability statement covering HVT’s services, equipment and experience. The publication combines industrial photography, large typography and track-inspired graphics to organise a substantial amount of technical information while maintaining a consistent visual style.

Website Design

I also designed the HVT website, carrying the identity through to the digital layouts. The design brings together the company’s mining and civil services, technical information and supporting imagery in a format that’s straightforward to navigate.

Selected application mock-ups use AI-assisted visualisation to present the original brand designs in context.

Let’s work together.

A new project, extra design support or a role on your team — I’d be happy to hear about it.
