Dom Azzopardi Golf Academy

A new visual identity for a golf academy, from initial concepts through to marketing and signage.

Scope: Brand Identity, Logo Design, Brand Guidelines, Stationery, Marketing & Signage

Role: Concept Development, Graphic Design & Artwork Production

The brief for Dom Azzopardi Golf Academy was to develop a visual identity that reflected the professionalism, quality and reputation associated with Dom’s established career as a PGA golf professional.

With a clear understanding of how the client wanted the brand to be perceived, I had the creative freedom to explore different directions and develop an identity that would work across the academy’s marketing, signage and everyday communications.

Developing the identity

I explored several logo concepts before developing the final DA lettermark, which combines the initials with a subtle golf flag formed through negative space. The aim was to create something distinctive and professional, with a connection to golf that wasn’t overly obvious.

Building the visual system

The identity was developed around a palette of greens, complemented by blue and gold accents. Typography, curved graphic elements and supporting devices were brought together in a set of brand guidelines, giving the academy a consistent look across its communications.

Putting the identity to work

The branding was carried through to stationery, promotional material and signage, including large-format outdoor applications. Each piece was designed to work within the established visual style while meeting the practical requirements of its format.

Selected application mock-ups use AI-assisted visualisation to present the original brand designs in context.
