Sunshine Coast Council
Ongoing design partnership.
Sunshine Coast Council required a trusted design contractor to provide on-going services to produce a broad range of communications material — from wayfinding signage and vehicle livery through to annual reports, gallery catalogues, illustrated maps, and public-facing infographics — all within a comprehensive brand framework and tight council timeframes.
Sunshine Coast 2032 Infrastructure Vision Map
Working within a comprehensive brand guidelines system isn’t a constraint — it’s a design problem in its own right. Every piece had to sit comfortably inside Council’s established visual identity while still communicating clearly to its specific audience, whether that was a resident reading a report, a visitor following wayfinding signage, or a gallery patron picking up a catalogue.
The project range was deliberately varied: environmental signage and vehicle livery demanded precision and legibility at scale; reports and infographics required the ability to make complex data readable and visually engaging; illustrated maps called for a different hand entirely — detailed, considered, and with a sense of place. Gallery catalogues brought their own brief: restrained, considered design that let the artwork lead.
Each deliverable had its own audience, format, and deadline. The consistent thread was understanding Council’s brand well enough to apply it confidently without needing sign-off on every decision.
Material was delivered consistently on time and on-brand across a wide range of formats and audiences. The variety of work produced under a single consistent framework demonstrates the ability to shift register — from large-format environmental graphics to fine-detail illustration — without losing coherence or requiring additional oversight.
